Crazy is as Crazy Does

Whew! The first few weeks of school are CRAZY! They finally got my air conditioning working after a week and a half! I don't know how the pioneers did it! I am pretty sure Heavenly Father chose the right time for me to be here because I think I would have DIED by now if I had been born Pre-AC! :) I haven't been home before 6pm once this week and tomorrow is Open House night till 8pm! I am so glad we have a 3 day weekend after this! I like my new class. They are a pretty cool bunch. There are still 1 or 2 kids who haven't quite jumped on the Ms. S bandwagon but they'll get there eventually. I still miss last years class though. Even though this year's are probably better behaved (hopefully b/c I have better classroom management skills!) last years class had so much PERSONALITY! I mean really who tells their teacher that 30 is the new 20? :) I'm sure I will fall in love with my class this year too, I just need to get to know them a little better. They think I am super nice(which scares me but I have a hard time being mean), so nice in fact that half of them didn't feel the need to do their homework Monday night! Yeah that did not go so well for them. Needless to say that after my lecture on responsibility and threatening to keep them off the honor roll I had 100% homework the next day! It was a really good lecture too! :) Yep my teacher look is back in action! :)

Gotta love that Florida Weather!

Why do I love the weather here? Because I got today off! :) Yep since they weren't sure if Hurricane Fay would hit Tampa we got the day off just in case! And what do you do with an unexpected day off? Go to the Temple! Tomorrow its back to school with my new class. They are pretty good so far but it's only been one day. Oh did I mention my air conditioner has been out in my classroom for a week?!? I didn't exactly look fresh by the end of the first day of school! I really really really REALLY hope the air is fixed tomorrow! Although all this crazy weather has cooled things off a bit too!

It's the Color of Royalty!

Sssooo there I was... at the blood lab work place. Why because I had to endure a 2 1/2 hour test to see if I had diabetes. Basically they make you drink liquid sugar and then they draw your blood 5 times in different places at different times to see how your blood handles sugar. I look like a heroin addict becasue I bruise so easily but that's not the point of this post!
I had a great nurse and as she started to put on purple latex gloves I remarked that purple is my favorite color. She stated that it was her favorite too! And then went on to say "You know purple is the color of Royalty!" (of course I know that!) I told her that I know and my name is Sarah which means Princess! :) She called me Princess the rest of the time which I LOVED! (hint hint) She also said that she saw her daughters face in me (her daughter is 11) which warmed my heart because you know I do worry about being too mature! :)

PS the results from the test came back fine, my blood sugar is perfectly normal.
And no more headaches! woo-hoo!

PPS Saw Mamma Mia! And LOVED the music which as some of you know is surprising because I normally loathe 70's music (Especially that do the hustle song, it freakin stays in my head for DAYS! right Danica?) :)
